In the prerelease version of Flash Player 10 there is support for type-safe lists in the form of the new class Vector. The class is an example of a parameterized type, meaning that you can have a vector of strings, a vector of display objects or a vector of any other type you like. The Adobe AIR beta 1 runtime installer leaves a lot to be desired. Adobe continues the blantant disregard for standard folders and proceedures on the Mac that Macromedia had, and this leads to problems. I had to do quite a lot of tinkering to be able to install it at all. Continue reading »

As you may have heard, the next version of Flex is codenamed “Gumbo” and we are beginning to get out information on the kinds of things we’re thinking about. One of our themes is called “Design in Mind” and I have now posted information on the open source site to try to set the context for what we’re looking at. iphone pan flashOkay,first let me say that I love my MacBook and am a big supported of Apple. However, after reading the post about Pandora on cnet I am a little concerned. The context of the article is just speculation at this point about how enabling Flash on the iPhone could be a revenue hit to Apple. Pandora allows users to listen to and bookmark music streaming within the browser via the Flash Player.
